Man found in ditch at Thornhill and East 74^th Street

Shreveport police are investigating a shooting that killed Eddy Lee West, who would have turned 40 Sunday.

West, whose address is not available, was found lying face down in a ditch at the corner of Thornhill and East 74^th Street about 3 a.m. this morning.

Residents reported hearing gun shots about 30 minutes before a passerby found West and called police. The victim died on the way to LSU Health Sciences Center.

The cause of the shooting is not known at this time.
