Shreveport Police investigate report of kidnapping

Shreveport Police officers are investigating the report of a kidnapping that occurred this morning in west Shreveport.

At approximately 10:37 a.m. this morning, patrol officers were dispatched to a home in the 6100 block of Wincanton Dr. in Shreveport relative to a possible kidnapping. Upon arrival there, officers learned that the suspect, identified as 23 year old Edward Williams of the 8200 block of Pines Rd. in Shreveport, apparently kicked in the door to his ex-girlfriend’s residence and forced her and her juvenile child into his vehicle. Williams began driving and, after being contacted via cell phone by police dispatchers, returned to the scene of the crime on Wincanton where officers took him into custody. No one was injured in this incident.

Detectives have arrested Edward Williams and booked him into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of aggravated burglary and two counts of simple kidnapping.
