Shreveport Police detectives seeking suspect in home invasion investigation Shreveport Police detectives have identified the man they believe broke into a woman’s home last month and robbed her.
At approximately 11:26 p.m. on October 14, 2009, officers and detectives responded to a residence in the 1600 block of Vivian St. relative to a report of a home invasion. Upon arrival there, officers learned that a male suspect had forced his way into an elderly female’s home and stolen a small amount of cash and her car. The victim advised investigators that earlier that week she was approached at her house by a male suspect who stated he was homeless and needed money. The victim reported to officers she gave the man a few dollars and he has since returned to her home asking for more money. The male suspect came back again the night of October 14 and when she refused to open the door, he forced his way in and stole some cash and her car. The victim was not injured and officers were able to recover the victim’s vehicle a few blocks away where it had been abandoned.
Detectives now have an arrest warrant outstanding for 47 year old Donald Jones in connection with this home invasion, charging him with one count of armed robbery. The bond is set at $250,000. Jones is described as a white male, approximately 6’0" tall, weighing 175 lbs., with dark brown hair and green eyes. Investigators believe Jones is homeless.
Anyone who has any information regarding Donald Jones or his whereabouts is urged to call Shreveport Police Detective Russell Ross at 318-673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373. -spd- View all SPD press releases at www.shreveportla.gov |
