Detectives seek suspect in robbery

Shreveport Police detectives are looking for a local man believed to have robbed a victim back in September.

At approximately 1:35 p.m. on September 14, 2009, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to the 2700 block of Midway relative to a robbery. Upon arrival, officers contacted the victim and learned that a male suspect had approached him as he was having vehicle problems and offered help. Suddenly the suspect produced a handgun and robbed the victim of a small amount of money. The suspect fled the scene. No one was injured during the robbery.

Detectives have now identified the man they believe is responsible for this robbery and have obtained a warrant for his arrest. Investigators are looking for 19 year old Denzel Thomas of the 7100 block of Janey in Shreveport who has a warrant outstanding for his arrest charging him with one count of armed robbery. The bond is set at $100,000. Denzel Thomas is described as a black male, approximately 5’6” tall weighing 125 lbs.
