Shreveport Police identify fatality crash victim

Shreveport Police crash investigators have identified a man killed earlier this week after being struck by an 18-wheeler on I-20.

The victim has been identified as 50 year old Stanley Earl Combs of Dallas, Texas. Investigators have learned that Mr. Combs was in Shreveport working. At approximately 10:22 p.m. on October 21, 2009, Combs was struck by an eastbound 18-wheeler that was traveling on I-20 east just west of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. The driver of that vehicle, 59 year old Herbert Cherry of Williams, North Carolina, was not cited. This investigation is ongoing and officers are working to determine exactly what factors contributed to this crash.
