Shreveport Police arrest suspect, look for other victims Shreveport Police have arrested a local man for illegal possession of stolen things and are now looking for other possible victims.
Detectives investigating recent vehicle burglaries were able to develop 21 year old Jacob Richie of the 2500 block of Crepe Myrtle in Shreveport as a suspect who had possession of merchandise that had been stolen in the car burglaries. On October 21, 2009, investigators arrested Richie at his home and were able to recover several items reported to be stolen in vehicle burglaries. In addition to those items, officers recovered a silver Kodak Easy Share digital camera, a Sony digital video camera, an older model Garmin GPS unit, and several Dewalt power tools. Investigators believe that these items are stolen, but have been unable to locate any reports. Richie was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on three counts of illegal possession of stolen things.
Detectives are now looking for anyone who might have had items like those listed above stolen and not reported the theft. It is possible that the owner may not even realize the camera was stolen. The Kodak digital camera has pictures on it of a small child’s birthday party, as well as pictures of a brick home. A picture from the camera of a birthday cake with the message “Happy Birthday Princess Addyson” on it has been included with this release as part of our effort to locate the rightful owner of this property and return it to them.
Anyone with any information regarding this item is urged to call Shreveport Police Detective Alison Azlin at 318-673-6955. -spd- View all SPD press releases at www.shreveportla.gov |
