Detectives investigate Family Dollar robbery

Shreveport Police need your help in identifying and apprehending a suspect who robbed a Family Dollar store earlier this month.

At approximately 6:20 p.m. on October 19, 2009, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Family Dollar in the 3800 block of Linwood Ave. A witness told investigators that a male suspect entered the store, produced a handgun, and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint. The suspect, described a black male in his twenties wearing a white t-shirt, blue shorts with a dark bandanna around his neck, received an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store on foot. No one was injured during the robbery. Detectives are releasing video of the robbery and it will be in the media box at the Patrol Desk.
