Police find missing girl

On 10/19/08 at approximately midnight, area residents witnessed a 3 Year old black female child walking the street in the area of Vivian and Lindholm. Shreveport Police Department Youth Investigators immediately responded and placed the child into protective custody with child protection services. A plea to the public through the media (Channel 3) produced numerous leads which were worked by investigators and officers from the SPD patrol division. As a result, the father, Jamaree Gant, Black Male, 03/14/85 was located and arrested for outstanding warrants and improper supervision of a minor. During the investigation the father provided the name and address of the baby sitter who was responsible for the supervision of the child at the time of the disappearance.

Investigators located the 15 year old sitter in the 2500 block of Malcolm and issued an arrest summons for improper supervision of a minor.
