Shreveport Police investigating home invasion, rape

Shreveport Police detectives are investigating an early morning home invasion and rape that occurred in west Shreveport.

At approximately 3:40 a.m. this morning, officers and detectives responded to a residence in the 2900 block of Lindholm St. relative to a sexual assault. Upon arrival there, officers contacted the adult female victim who advised that at some time around 3:00 a.m., she was suddenly awakened by a male suspect striking her on the head with what she thought was a gun. The victim told officers that after the beating, the suspect sexually assaulted her. Following the assault, the victim, who was suffering from injuries to her head, was able to escape from the residence and run to a neighbor’s home where she called police. During this time, the suspect apparently fled the scene. Crime scene investigators have recovered evidence from the crime scene.

The suspect is described as a black male, husky build, approximately 5’7” to 5’8” tall, with a dark complexion. The suspect is reported to have some type of speech impediment and may stutter. He was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt with designs on it and dark pants.

If you have any information about this case, please call the Shreveport Police Department immediately at 318-673-7300 ext.3 or Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373. Detectives are working this case and can be reached at 318-673-6955.
