Burglary Suspect Captured

Quick response and mobilization of SPD Investigators acting on a Crime Stoppers tip resulted in the arrest of a suspect wanted for the burglary of First Methodist Church earlier in the week.

This afternoon a Crime Stoppers tip was received regarding the whereabouts of Burglary suspect Matthew Casey. The tip stated that Casey, who was responsible for the burglary of First Methodist Church, was located in the 100 block of Hartman. Shreveport Police Investigators and SPD K-9 went to the residence and gained permission by the homeowner to search the residence for Casey. Once police entered the house Casey attempted to flee out the back but was chased back in the house by officers guarding the back door. Suspect was arrested without incident.

The suspect was wanted by the La. Dept. Of Corrections on a warrant for parole violation and numerous other local warrants.
