Shreveport Police arrest suspect in trio of Family Dollar robberies

Shreveport Police have arrested a suspect in connection with at least three robberies of Family Dollar stores.

Shreveport Police detectives have been investigating three robberies that have occurred over the past several weeks at area Family Dollar stores. The first occurred at the store located in the 3700 block of Lakeshore Dr., the second at the store located in the 2600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr., and the third at the store located in the 6700 block of Pines Rd. All three robberies were very similar in nature with a lone black male suspect hiding in the store after closing and then approaching employees armed with a handgun demanding money.

Based on evidence recovered at the scene and other information gathered by investigators, a suspect was developed. Upon further investigation, detectives were able to arrest 24 year old Jerry G. Moore of the 100 block of Carriage Square in Bossier City. Moore has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail on three counts of armed robbery.

This investigation is ongoing and detectives are working at this time to determine what, if any, other crimes Moore might be responsible for. Anyone having any information regarding Jerry G.
