W. 70th St. Family Dollar robbed

Shreveport Police need your help in identifying and apprehending a suspect who robbed a Family Dollar store in west Shreveport last Saturday night.

At approximately 8:10 p.m. on October 10, 2009, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Family Dollar in the 3700 block of W. 70^th St. A witness told investigators that a male suspect armed with a handgun who had apparently concealed himself in the store after it was closed approached employees and demanded money at gunpoint. The suspect, described as black male wearing black gloves, a blue jean jacket and blue jean pants with a black ski mask over his face, received an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store in an unknown direction of travel. No one was injured during the robbery.

Detectives are working to determine if this robbery is connected to earlier Family Dollar robberies.
