FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Shreveport Police searching for kidnapping, rape suspect

Shreveport Police officers are investigating a kidnapping and rape that occurred this morning in west Shreveport.

At approximately 6:50 a.m. this morning, a 14 year old female was walking to her bus stop at Midway and Hearne when she was approached by a male suspect near the intersection of Midway and Orla. The male suspect was driving what has been described as a black or dark blue four door sedan. The suspect stopped the victim, asked her for directions, and then got out of his vehicle. He subsequently accosted the victim, pulled her hoodie jacket over her head and forced her into his vehicle. The suspect was armed with a silver handgun and told the victim to cooperate or he would shoot her.

The suspect then drove the victim to a residence in an unknown area and forced her into a bedroom there where he raped her. He kept her in the house for some time and then covered her head and forced her back into his vehicle. The suspect drove her around for approximately 45 minutes and then forced her out of the car near the McDonald's on Greenwood Rd. at Jewella. The victim was at that point able to call her mother by cell phone. Investigators believe the residence the victim was taken to is near Jewella and Greenwood.

Detectives need your help in identifying and apprehending this violent criminal. He is described as a black male in his mid-twenties, approximately 6' 2" tall, skinny build, with a very dark complexion. He has short wavy hair and a goatee on his chin only. He spoke very proper and was wearing a white shirt and long black "sagging" shorts.

Please call the Shreveport Police Department immediately if you have any information about this suspect at 318-673-7300 ext.3 or Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373. Detectives are working this case and can be reached at 318-673-6955.
