Shreveport Police need your help in identifying and apprehending a suspect who robbed a Family Dollar store in west Shreveport last night.
At approximately 9:17 p.m. on October 6, 2009, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Family Dollar in the 6700 block of Pines Rd. A witness told investigators that a male suspect armed with a handgun who had apparently concealed himself in the store after it was closed approached employees and demanded money at gunpoint. The suspect, described as a black male wearing a white t-shirt and dark pants with a grey ski mask over his face, received an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store in what has been described as a white, mid-sized sedan. The suspect had a pair of what appear to be prescription glasses in his hand as he entered the store and then later put them on as he committed the robbery. No one was injured during the robbery. Detectives are working on acquiring surveillance video at this time.
Investigators are releasing a still photo of the suspect taken as he entered the store before he put on the mask. Detectives believe this suspect may be responsible for other business robberies in Shreveport and are working hard to identify him.
Anyone who has any information regarding this robbery is urged to call Shreveport Police Detective Jack Miller at 318-673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373. -spd- View all SPD press releases at www.shreveportla.gov |
