***Update*** Nantucket Apartment shooting

I was able to confirm there was a Shreveport Police Officer involved at the Nantucket Harbor Apartments. He did suffer minor injuries from a fall. His name will not be released due to the Police Officer's Bill of Rights.

Shreveport Police are looking for an individual who shot another man several times last night.

The incident happened at 11:00 PM last night when Avery George, Black Male DOB 3-4-1976, beat on the door of a neighbor's apartment at Nantucket Harbor, pleading for him to open the door.

When the resident opened the door, George ran through the apartment. Before the resident could stop him and shut the front door the shooting suspect also entered the apartment and fired several times, striking George.

The resident of the apartment was forced to jump off of the balcony to avoid being shot.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned black male with a slender build, approximately 6 foot to 6' 2" tall wearing dark clothes and was armed with a large caliber handgun.

George was taken to LAU-HSC with non-life threatening injuries.

The resident of the apartment was slightly injured after jumping from the balcony.
