Shreveport Police search for suspect who fled from officers Shreveport Police detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for the man they believe led officers on a pursuit this afternoon that ended in Shreveport's Highland neighborhood.
Detectives are looking for 23 year old Michael Horton of the 3400 block of Hardy St. in Shreveport following their investigation into the pursuit that began after a Shreveport Police K-9 officer observed a stolen vehicle on Hollywood Ave. Investigators believe Horton was driving the stolen Mercury Grand Marquis and fled from officers in an apparent attempt to evade capture. During this flight, Horton is believed to have rammed a deputy City Marshal who subsequently fired shots at the suspect. Horton eventually abandoned the vehicle in the 1100 block of Boulevard St. and was able to elude officers.
Michael Horton now has a warrant outstanding for his arrest charging him with one count of aggravated criminal property damage. The bond is set at $150,000. Detectives anticipate more charges will be forthcoming against Horton when he is taken into custody.
If anyone has any information regarding Michael Horton or his whereabouts, they are urged to call Shreveport Police Detectives at 318-673-6955 or Crime Stoppers at 318-673-7373. -spd- View all SPD press releases at www.shreveportla.gov |
