Aggravated battery suspect surrenders to authorities

A local man wanted for aggravated battery has surrendered himself to authorities.

At approximately 2:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, officials from Louisiana State Probation and Parole notified detectives that Damon Brooks was at their office to surrender himself on the aggravated battery warrant outstanding for his arrest. Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched and took custody of Brooks. He was subsequently booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of aggravated battery.

Damon Brooks, 29 years old of the 1400 block of Andrew Ave. in Shreveport, is accused of striking a patrol officer with a vehicle earlier this week. His bond is set at $500,000.
