Family Dollar robbed

Shreveport Police need your help in identifying and apprehending a suspect who robbed a Family Dollar store in North Shreveport last night.

At approximately 8:20 p.m. on September 30, 2009, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a reported armed robbery at the Family Dollar in the 2600 block of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr. A witness told investigators that a male suspect armed with a handgun who had apparently concealed himself in the store after it was closed approached employees and demanded money at gunpoint. The suspect, described as a black male wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans with a red ski mask over his face, received an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store in what has been described as a white, mid-sized sedan. No one was injured during the robbery. Detectives are working on acquiring surveillance video at this time.
