Shreveport Police seek aggravated battery suspect Shreveport Police detectives are looking for a local man wanted for striking a patrol officer with a vehicle.
At approximately 9:00 p.m. on September 28, 2009, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a citizen complaint of narcotics activity in the 1100 block of Andrew Ave. As officers conducted their investigation, they stopped a vehicle and began to interview the driver. The driver subsequently fled the scene in the vehicle, pinning an officer between the moving vehicle and a parked car on Andrew St. The officer was knocked to the ground and fortunately received only minor injuries that did not require medical treatment. The suspect vehicle was located a short time later in the 2900 block of Despot St. and impounded by officers.
Investigators have now identified the suspect they believe struck the officer as 29 year old Damon Brooks of the 1400 block of Andrew Ave. in Shreveport. Brooks, who also uses an alias of Damon Dumars, has an arrest warrant outstanding for his arrest charging him with one count of aggravated battery. The bond is set at $500,000.
Anyone with any information regarding Damon Brooks or his whereabouts is urged to call Shreveport Police detectives at 318-673-6955 or CrimeStoppers at 318-673-7373. -spd- View all SPD press releases at www.shreveportla.gov |
