Shooting victim arrested by detectives

Shreveport police detectives have arrested a local man who was wounded by gunfire this afternoon.

At approximately 2:20 p.m. this afternoon, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to 4300 block of St. Louis relative to a shots fired call. As officers were investigating this report, 21 year old Sirdarren Jackson of the 4300 block of Illinois St. in Shreveport showed up at LSUHSC suffering from a non life threatening gunshot wound to the left shoulder.

After interviewing Sirdarren Jackson, investigators believe that he was involved in a gun fight with another man this afternoon near the intersection of St. Louis and Kennedy. Jackson was treated and released from LSUHSC and then booked into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of illegal use of a weapon. Detectives stress this is an ongoing investigation and they expect more arrests to follow.
