Chief Whitehorn to promote three officers

Three Shreveport Police officers will be promoted by Chief of Police Henry Whitehorn Friday, September 18, 2009. The ceremony will be held in the Assembly Room, located on the second floor of the Shreveport Police Complex, and will start at 11:00 a. m. The officers to be promoted are as follows:

• Sgt. Rickey Scroggins will be promoted to lieutenant. Scroggins joined the department in September of 1986.

• Lt. Don Johnson will be promoted to captain. Johnson joined the department in January of 1984.

• Capt. Travis “Chipper” Hayes will be promoted to assistant chief of police. Hayes joined the department in January of 1981.
