Shreveport Police investigate shooting

Shreveport Police detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred last night at a west Shreveport apartment complex.

Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to the Southern Village Apartments in the 3500 block of W. 70^th St. at approximately 9:02 p.m. last night relative to a report of a male victim shot at the apartment complex there. Upon arrival, officers discovered 33 year old Shannon Golston deceased in an apartment suffering from what appeared to be at least one gunshot wound to the upper torso. Detectives were dispatched to the scene as well as Shreveport Police crime scene investigators who processed the scene and recovered evidence.

Investigators believe that Golston was sitting outside of an apartment when he was approached by a suspect or suspects who began firing a weapon at him. Golston apparently tried to get back inside the apartment as he was being shot.
