Suspect arrested in shooting death

Shreveport Police detectives have arrested a local man in connection with Shreveport’s 26^th homicide.

At approximately 7:15 p.m. last night, Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to a residence in the 7100 block of Bobtail Dr. relative to a shooting. Upon arrival there, officers located 23 year old Darrius Bourgeois suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Bourgeois was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Based on evidence recovered at the scene and witness statements, detectives believe that there were four men in a bedroom of the residence playing with a shotgun. The suspect, identified as Roland White, was allegedly pointing the shotgun at Bourgeois when the firearm discharged, striking the victim in the head.

Investigators have charged 22 year old Roland White of the 7100 block of Bobtail Dr. in Shreveport with one count of manslaughter. White was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
