Felony suspect arrested

Today at approximately 12:00 PM, law enforcement officers from Shreveport Police Department and the US Marshals Fugitive task force received a Crime Stoppers tip regarding the location of a suspect wanted for the assault on a police officer on August 28th at the Circle K store, Youree and Southfield.

On August 28, 2008, Terrance D. Wise, AKA "Country Boy", AKA "Wayne", b/m, dob 04/27/1980 committed a felony battery of a police officer on SPD Officer, Phillip Brazil. Officer Brazil suffered broken bones in his hand when the suspect slammed a car door closed on the officer as he attempted to arrest him for panhandling. The suspect escaped arrest.

Shreveport Police Investigators obtained an arrest warrant for the Wise for Battery on an Officer with a bond of $50,000.00. After receiving a Crimes Stoppers tip on the possible whereabouts of the suspect, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force went to 900 block of Pine Tree to search for the suspect. During the initial search of the residence, the suspect was located but escaped. During the search, as a precaution Woodlawn High School was locked down for approximately 40 minutes to prevent the suspect from gaining entry into the school. Numerous officers from Shreveport Police Department, US Marshals Task Force and Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office continued to canvass the area after receiving tips on the suspect’s locations. Additional information was called into SPD and at 1:00 PM the suspect was arrested during a felony traffic stop on the Circle K lot at W.70th and Linwood.

Wise was arrested on an outstanding warrant from Desoto Parish, Felony Battery on an Officer and Felony Resisting Arrest.
