Shreveport Police detectives arrest rape suspect

Shreveport Police detectives have arrested a local man on a forcible rape charge.

On August 17, 2009, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers working in the downtown area were flagged down in reference to a sexual assault. The female victim advised officers that a male suspect she was riding with took her to a wooded area and raped her. The victim did suffer injuries and was transported to a local hospital.

Detectives immediately began an investigation and within several hours located and impounded the suspect’s vehicle. As the investigation progressed, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for the suspect charging him with one count of forcible rape. On August 28, 2009, investigators with the department’s Sex Crimes Unit arrested 29 year old Ketric Carter of the 2900 block of Fulton St. in Shreveport and booked him into the Shreveport City Jail on the outstanding warrant for forcible rape. The bond is set at $200,000.
