Police Pastors to hold anniversary

The Shreveport Police Department’s Police Pastors will be celebrating the ninth anniversary of the program this Sunday.

The Police Pastors will hold an anniversary celebration this Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at Linwood Baptist Church, located at 1622 Midway St. in Shreveport. The celebration will mark the ninth anniversary of the Shreveport Police Department’s Police Pastor Program. The program, which was started in 1999, features volunteer pastors, who are not sworn and have no powers of arrest, assisting regular officers in a support capacity. The program has been very successful and continues to be an asset to the police department and the citizens we serve.

The media is encouraged to attend and cover this event as we recognize the outstanding work these pastors do for the City of Shreveport.
