Homicide suspect arrested in Winnfield

Shreveport Police detectives have been notified that a man wanted in connection with a homicide earlier this week is in custody in Winnfield, Louisiana.

Shreveport Police Detective Shawn Hinderberger was notified by authorities in Winnfield that they had 23 year old Jerome Thompson in custody there yesterday at approximately 4:30 p.m. Detective Hinderberger and other investigators traveled to Winnfield yesterday to interview Thompson. There are no other details available at this time regarding the capture of Jerome Thompson.

Detectives believe Jerome Thompson shot Tremaine Perkins to death at the Country Club Apartments in the 4200 block of Lakeshore Dr. back on August 12, 2009. Investigators have an arrest warrant outstanding for Thompson’s arrest charging him with one count of second degree murder. The bond is set at $300,000.
