Police collecting new and used school uniforms

Shreveport Police are collecting new and used school uniforms, so students will be outfitted properly for the new school year.

Uniforms of all sizes, along with accessories such as socks and belts, will be collected here at the Shreveport Police Department through the end of the month. Donations should be directed to the Community Oriented Policing Bureau or the Chief of Police Office, both of which are located on the first floor of SPD Headquarters, located at 1234 Texas Avenue.

Cash donations also are being accepted. Officers will use the money to purchase uniforms. All uniforms collected will then be distributed to schools which have children in need.

Anyone who would like to make a donation for this uniform drive is asked to make checks payable to: SPD School Uniform Drive, c/o SPD Community Oriented Policing Bureau, 1234 Texas Ave., Shreveport, La. 71101.
