Shreveport Police arrest pair for impersonating an officer

The Shreveport Police Department has arrested two men for impersonating an officer near downtown Shreveport early this morning.

At approximately 1:58 a.m. this morning, an off-duty Shreveport Police officer spotted an unmarked Ford Crown Victoria stopped blocking a lane of traffic in the 1000 block of Texas Ave. The officer observed two masked men apparently detaining and questioning a black male in front of the vehicle. The off duty officer subsequently notified on duty personnel and made them aware of this suspicious activity. A short time later, officers contacted the two male suspects, who were still wearing masks, in the Crown Victoria and detained them. Investigating officers learned the men claimed to be “fugitive recovery agents” and were searching for a black female.

Officers have arrested the two men, identified as 24 year old Shane Lewis of the 8500 block of Millicent Way in Shreveport, and 25 year old Jemayel Warren of the 3100 block of Bert Kouns in Shreveport, and booked them both into the Shreveport City Jail on one count each of false personation and wearing a mask or hood in public.
