Shreveport Police identify homicide suspect

Shreveport Police detectives are searching for the man they believe is responsible for a homicide that occurred yesterday morning at a west Shreveport apartment complex.

Shreveport Police patrol officers responded to the Country Club Apartments in the 4200 block of Lakeshore Dr. at approximately 6:57 a.m. on August 12, 2009, relative to a concerned citizen reporting a male victim face down in the parking lot there. Upon arrival, officers discovered 24 year old Tremaine Perkins deceased in the parking lot suffering from what appeared to be at least two gunshot wounds to the upper torso. Detectives were dispatched to the scene as well as Shreveport Police crime scene investigators who processed the scene and recovered evidence.

Detectives now have an arrest warrant for the suspect they believe shot Tremaine Perkins to death. Investigators are looking for 23 year old Jerome Thompson and have an arrest warrant outstanding for his arrest charging him with one count of second degree murder. The bond is set at $300,000.
