Chief Whitehorn reacts to Civil Service Board Decision

Shreveport Police Chief Henry Whitehorn has received notification that the Shreveport Municipal Fire and Police Civil Service Board has overturned his termination of Officer Wiley Willis and has reinstated Willis to his former position with the Shreveport Police Department.

Chief Whitehorn remarked, “Of course I am disappointed with the Board’s ruling in this hearing. The fact of the matter remains the same as it did and that is I simply will not tolerate any type of misconduct on the part of my officers. Officer Willis was terminated for violation of departmental policies and I believe that my decision to terminate him was the right thing for the Shreveport Police Department and the citizens of Shreveport. Our attorneys are working at this time to determine if we will appeal the Board’s decision.”
