Three arrested in Springhill Street Homicide

Shreveport Police have arrested three people on murder charges in connection with a homicide that occurred in the 600 block of Springhill early this morning.

About 3 a.m., 36-year-old Donte Gilbert and 24-year-old Jerry Bryant were shot while sitting on a porch in front of a house.

The fire department transported Gilbert to LSU Hosp

ital, where he died from his injuries. Meanwhile, Bryant was transported by private auto and is currently in stable condition at LSUH.

Through several interviews, investigators located a possible suspect and ultimately obtained enough probable cause for his arrest. Investigators then located other suspects and arrested them as well. Those arrested were 20-year-old Broderick Brooks, 19-year-old Corey Roberson and 17-year-old Furlando Washington, addresses unknown. All three were jailed on charges of first-degree murder.

The motive for the shooting is still under investigation. No mug shots will be released at this time.
