Man shot on Baxter Street

Shreveport Police detectives are investigating the shooting of a man last night on Baxter St.

On August 6, 2009, at approximately 10:47 p.m., Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to the 4100 block of Baxter St. relative to a shooting. Upon arrival there, officers discovered 20 year old Carlos Ary suffering from a gunshot wound to the right leg. Ary was transported to LSUHSC by the Shreveport Fire Department with what has been described as non life threatening injuries.

Detectives have learned that Ary was walking in the 4100 block of Baxter St. when a large, white SUV occupied by several black male suspects drove by him. One of the suspects in the SUV yelled something at Ary and then began shooting. Ary was struck once by gunfire.

Detectives have recovered evidence from the crime scene, including suspected crack cocaine, and are working at this time to identify and apprehend the suspect or suspects responsible for this shooting.
