Shreveport Police arrest robber suspect after foot chase

Shreveport Police have arrested a local man for armed robbery after he fled from officers this afternoon.

Shreveport Police patrol officers had been looking for 24 year old Michael Taylor, of the 7200 block of McArthur St. in Shreveport, relative to an armed robbery warrant outstanding for his arrest. Detectives believe that on July 29, 2009 at approximately 2:52 a.m., Taylor robbed a man at gunpoint in the 1000 block of Marshall St. No one was injured in the robbery.

This afternoon officers observed Michael Taylor walking near downtown close to Wilson Alley just off of Texas Ave. and attempted to take him into custody. Taylor fled from officers and, after a foot pursuit, was captured behind some businesses on Texas Ave. Taylor has been booked into the Shreveport City Jail on the outstanding warrant charging him with one count of armed robbery.
