FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Shreveport Police arrest suspect for cruelty to a juvenile

Shreveport Police have arrested a local man in connection with an investigation into injuries suffered by a five month old infant.

On July 17, 2009, Shreveport Police patrol officers were dispatched to LSUHSC relative to a five month female in the emergency room with serious injuries, including a skull fracture, bilateral breaks to both sides of her collar bone, a fractured right leg, and a fractured left arm. Detectives immediately began an investigation and interviewed possible witnesses and family members.

As a result of this ongoing investigation, detectives have arrested 23 year old Terrelle Hill of the 2900 block of Meadow Ave. in Shreveport and booked him into the Shreveport City Jail on one count of cruelty to a juvenile. Investigators advised that Hill was not related to the victim, but was responsible for caring for the infant from time to time. The infant has been released from the hospital and is now in protective custody.

Anyone with any information regarding this case is urged to call Shreveport Police Detective Jimmy Ray at 318-673-7020.
