The Information Technology
Division operates the City of Shreveport's mainframe
computers, Local Area Networks (LAN's) and Wide Area Networks
(WAN's) servicing all City Departments, coordinates computing activities
citywide, and manages both the maintenance of existing computer
systems and the development of new applications. Personal desktop
computing power continues to grow, with Data Processing
maintaining four LANs and over 1,100 personal computer devices
across all City departments. Data Processing is also responsible for the City's
central reproduction service.
