September 16, 2009 - Swearing-in Ceremony for Shreveport Fire Chief

Event Postponed Twice

A belated swearing-in ceremony will be held this Friday (September 18) for Shreveport Fire Chief Brian A. Crawford. Crawford, appointed by Mayor Cedric Glover and approved by the City Council to head the 600 member Class 1 fire organization in July 2008, was originally scheduled to be sworn-in August 2008 but that ceremony was postponed due to the new chief’s planning and commanding the fire department’s critical role in hurricanes Gustav and Ike. Another attempt late in 2008 was again postponed due to a two-alarm apartment fire. If all goes as planned, the logistics of the event will be as follows:
