November 26, 2010 - Local Media and Public Safety Departments team up for Operation Santa Claus
A program designed to help fulfill Christmas wish lists for hundreds of needy children

On Monday, November 29, 2010 at 10:00 am, volunteers from the Shreveport Fire and Police Departments, Bossier Sheriff's Office and Gap Broadcasting will be on hand to publicly kick-off Operation Santa Claus, a program designed to help fulfill Christmas wish lists for hundreds of needy children in Shreveport-Bossier community. This year marks the 26th year that volunteers have willingly supported this program by giving their time to this worthy cause.

According to Jeff Williams, the Shreveport Fire Department’s Operation Santa contact person, “We have one goal in mind for Operation Santa Claus 2010: to increase the number of children who received Christmas gifts. Last year, we gave away approximately 750 toys to area children.”
