November 3, 2010 - City Limit Permit Burning Moratorium Lifted
Substantial Rainfall Contributes Lifting Ban

On September 21, 2010, the Shreveport Fire Department issued a moratorium on issuing permits for burning inside the city limits of Shreveport. The State of Louisiana and Caddo Parish has seen substantial rainfall over the past 24-48 hours. The State Fire Marshall’s Office today lifted the state wide burn ban effective at 1:00 pm today. The Caddo Fire Chief’s Association lifted the Caddo Parish Burn Ban yesterday.

Pursuant to the State Wide Burn Ban being lifted today at 1:00 pm and the Caddo Parish Fire Chiefs Association lifting the Caddo Parish Burn Ban; the SFD Moratorium on permitted burning inside the city limits has been lifted effectively immediately. Businesses and citizens may receive permits to burn inside the city limits from the SFD Fire Prevention Bureau. The Fire Prevention Bureau can be contacted at 673-6740.
