October 26, 2010 - The Community Foundation establishes the Stewart/Warner Swim Fund

A $35 tax-deductible donation is all it takes

The Community Foundation continues to raise funds for the Stewart/Warner Project Swim Fund, which will assist with teaching any participant how to swim and perform emergency life-saving techniques. The Foundation is offering a dollar for dollar match for each contribution received up to $15,000.00.
Proceeds from the fund will be distributed through a competitive process to nonprofit and governmental organizations that offer swimming lessons meeting specific standards.
This summer, Shreveporters Litrelle Stewart, Latevin Stewart, LaDarius Stewart, Takeitha Warner, JaMarcus Warner and JaTavious Warner drowned while trying to save a family member from the Red River. The Fund was named in their honor.
