October 14, 2010 - SFD and Brothers Keeper Biker Club join forces in community service
Repairs for pier and boat deck for local veterans

The weekend, members of the Shreveport Fire Department and the Brothers Keeper Biker Club will volunteer their services to repair decaying handrails and guardrails on a pier and boat deck for local veterans at the American Legion Lowe-McFarlane Post #14.

According to the Shreveport Brothers Keeper leader and member of the SFD Fire Captain Perry McDaniel, "Our veterans have served our country to make it a better and safer place to live, so we are honored to have the opportunity to give something back to them. I am also ecstatic that my fire department family has willingly joined in this effort."

Established in 2003, the local Brothers Keeper Biker Club consists of career and volunteer firefighters who are committed to philanthropic projects throughout the year.
