July 23, 2010 - Overnight Fire Damages Home All 9 residents escaped without injury The Shreveport Fire Department responded to a home at 2653 Vivian Street at 1:27 am this morning. Crew arrived within minutes to find a two-story wood frame home with flames showing from a 2nd story bedroom. The fire extended in the attic space above the room but fire crews were able to bring the blaze under control at 1:44 am. The home was occupied by nine residents. All escaped the home prior to fire department arrival. One elderly male was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene but refused transportation to the hospital. The bedroom suffered heavy fire damage and the 2nd floor has some smoke damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. |
