June 4, 2010 - SFD Fire Chief Statement Shreveport Firefighters are held to a very high standard "We are aware of the events and DUI arrest of Shreveport Firefighter Christopher L. Neely on the morning of June 4, 2010 by the Shreveport Police Department. Mr. Neely was hired by the Fire Department on 10/16/2008 and as of June 4, 2010 is no longer employed by the Shreveport Fire Department. Shreveport Firefighters are held to a very high standard of behavior on and off the job. Although this behavior is uncommon for our members, when it does occur it is taken very seriously and appropriate action it taken to ensure public confidence and efficient operations."
