April 11, 2010 - Afternoon Fire Causes Heavy Damage to Home

The cause of the fire is still under investigation

The Shreveport Fire Department responded to 3025 Conmar Street for a reported house fire at 5:00 PM. Fire Crews from Station 15 arrived three minutes later to find a one-story wood frame home on fire in the rear of the home. The fire was extinguished quickly and brought under control at 5:20 PM.
 
The home was occupied by an elderly male who stated the fire started in the kitchen area. He escaped without injury. Damage from the fire was contained to the rear of the home which suffered heavy fire damage and smoke damage throughout.
 
Two firefighters suffered minor injuries at the fire and were transported to Willis Knighton emergency room for precautionary measures. One firefighter’s blood pressure elevated and would not come down and one firefighter suffered a burn to his right ear in the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
