February 25, 2010 - Midday House Fire Causes Heavy Damage
One story home sustains heavy damage

The Shreveport Fire Department was dispatched to 3920 Murvon St. at 12:42 PM for a reported house fire. Fire crews arrived on scene three minutes later to find a one-story wood frame home with flames and smoke coming from the side of the home. Fire crews determined that all occupants had escaped safely and then began extinguishing the fire along with protecting another home from flames that was close to the involved structure. The fire was brought under control at 1:00 PM.

The home was occupied by two adults and both escaped without injury. The occupant stated that a basket of clothes has been placed in a room with a space heater. The occupant then went to the kitchen to cook some lunch and later returned to find the room filled with smoke. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation by Shreveport Fire Investigators. The home suffered heavy fire and smoke damage.
