May 2, 2009 - Shreveport Firefighters Battle Fire in Multi-Family Complex in Allendale At 8:33 p.m. this evening, the Shreveport Fire Department responded to fire at a multi-family dwelling complex located at 1230 Sprague Street near downtown Shreveport. Initial crews arrived on scene at 8:37 p.m. to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the northwest corner of the structure. It took 8 units--24 firefighters -- less than 25 minutes to get the fire under control. Fire officials determined that the fire originated in the wall of the second floor and was caused by faulty wiring that was improperly installed. No injuries to residents or firefighters reported. |
