December 22, 2009 - Levingston Motel Fire

SFD Battles Second Fire This Morning

The Shreveport Fire Department responded to the Levingston Motel at 400 Pete Harris Drive at 10:09 AM for a reported apartment fire. Fire crews arrived on scene at 10:12 AM to find flame and smoke coming from the entrance of an upstairs apartment. The fire was quickly extinguished and brought under control at 10:16 AM.

The occupant of the apartment was not home at the time and had left two hours prior to the fire. The apartment owner discovered the blaze and had attacked it with dry chemical fire extinguishers prior to SFD arrival.

There were no injuries from the fire and the damage was contained to the involved apartment. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
