Shreveport Fire Department Officials finds occupied Shreveport home without working utilities on fire

At 3:48 a.m. this morning, the Shreveport Fire Department responded to a single-story wood-framed house fire in the 1300 block of Youree Drive in the Stoner Hill community.
Responding fire crews arrived on scene at 3:51 a.m. to find heavy smoke billowing from all sides and flames visible from a south side window. It took five fire companies -- 16 firefighters -- over 30 minutes to control and extinguish the fire.

Shreveport’s Fire Department Investigators have determined that the fire originated in the south side bedroom, but the exact cause of the fire is under investigation. Investigators said the home was occupied without utilizes and there was no working smoke alarm. No injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.
