Apartments suffered minimum damage

The Clubhouse of the Seasons Apartments at 9100 Walker Road suffered minimal damage during an early morning fire. The Shreveport Fire Department was dispatched at 1:15 a.m. on Tuesday morning to discover flames extending five to six feet from the exterior chimney casing on the north side of the structure. The fire was extinguished in less than 15 minutes after firefighter’s arrival. No one was injured.

Telemitha Whaley, a resident of the Seasons Apartments, prevented greater fire damage by immediately calling 911 after seeing smoke and flames. “Because of the quick thinking actions of Mr. Whaley, this fire was quickly contained to the exterior of the building and injuries were prevented,” said Fire Chief Brian Crawford.

According to Fire Investigator Chris Robinson, “There was no accidental or mechanical heat source in the area of fire origin, so arson is suspected. Evidence was collected and submitted to the Northwest Louisiana Crime for analysis. This fire is currently under investigation”.
