September 24, 2008 - Morning Fire Damages Home The Shreveport Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire this morning at 8:04 am at 1758 Oakdale Street. Fire crews arrive on scene four minutes later to find the front of the home engulfed in flames with heavy smoke. The fire had already damaged the electrical meter on the home and the electrical power line for the home had burned into and was on the ground sparking creating a hazard for the department. The fire was brought under control in 15 minutes with the home suffering heavy fire damage to the front two rooms and attic space. The home is occupied by a family of five but there was no one home at the time of the fire. Also, there were no firefighter injuries. The fire is being investigated at this time to determine a cause. |
